Matches Schedule For IPL 2021

The IPL Executive Council on Sunday announced plans for the VIVO Indian Premier League to be held in India. After almost two years, the IPL extravaganza will return home with Ahmedabad, Bangaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata to host the marquee event.

The season will be start on April 9, 2021 in Chennai with a high octane clash between the Indian defending champions of Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The World's Greatest Cricket Ground - Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the Playoffs and finals on May 30, 2021 which promises to be a visual spectacle. The newly constructed stadium that hosted the second Pink Ball Ball game at home with great beauty will host its first IPL.

Each team is expected to play in four places during the league. In 56 league games, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bengaluru will host 10 matches each and Ahmedabad and Delhi will host eight matches each. Another highlight of the VIVO IPL program will be the fact that all games will be played in neutral locations, with no team playing in its own venue. All teams will play in four of the six venues during the league.

There will be a total of 11 double headers in which six teams will play three games in the afternoon and two teams will play two games in the afternoon. The afternoon games are scheduled to start at 3:30 PM IST (Indian Standard Time) while the evening games will start at 7:30 PM IST.

After hosting the tournament safely and successfully in the UAE last year with all safety procedures in place, BCCI is confident of holding the IPL home with the health and safety of players and all the people involved moving forward.

The games of this tournament have been categorized in such a way that all teams will travel only three times during the league stage, thus reducing mobility and reducing risk. The VIVO IPL of this year at home will be played indoors with the start closed and a call will be allowed to allow spectators later in the tournament.
